Visite du tunnel du Gotthard, sur les travaux mis en oeuvre du plus long tunnel ferroviaire du monde.

Both overground and underground, the visitors are informed of progress on the world's longest railway tunnel.

The main attraction at the open day organised by The AlpTransit Gotthard Company (ATG) are again the underground construction activities. Shuttle buses transported the visitors through some two kilometres of access tunnel to the Gotthard Base Tunnel. During the subsequent tour, employees of The AlpTransit Gotthard Company, the engineering consortia, and der AGN construction consortium gave information and answered questions about building the world's longest tunnel. There was also a prize draw for almost 100 trips on the underground railway to the Gabi II tunnel boring machine in the west tunnel.

Above ground, the visitors could inspect the water purification plant as well as the gravel and concrete-making plant. Great interest was shown by young and old tunnel fans alike in the free train ride along the ATG works railway between Erstfeld and Amsteg. ...

Les visiteurs ont suivi avec intérêt les explications, en surface et sous la terre, sur les travaux mis en oeuvre du plus long tunnel ferroviaire du monde.

Le chantier sous terre formait encore une fois l’attraction principale de la journée des portes ouvertes sur les chantiers, organisée par AlpTransit Gotthard AG (ATG). Les visiteurs ont été acheminés par des trains-navettes à travers la galerie d’accès menant au tunnel de base du Saint-Gothard et qui mesure près de deux kilomètres de longueur. Des collaborateurs d’AlpTransit Gotthard AG, de la société d’ingénieurs et du consortium AGN ont informé, à l’occasion de l’ultérieure visite du circuit et répondu aux nombreuses questions concernant la construction du plus long tunnel du monde. De plus, environ 100 trajets sur le funiculaire portant au tunnelier « Gabi II » dans la galerie Ouest ont fait l’objet d'un tirage au sort.

Sur le chantier externe, les visiteurs ont pu admirer la station de traitement des eaux ainsi que l'usine de gravier et de béton. Jeunes et moins jeunes adeptes des tunnels ont particulièrement apprécié le transport gratuit sur la voie d’accès ferroviaire du chantier ATG reliant Erstfeld à Amsteg.
